Import EV, energy and electronic products into India with compliance clarity.
Avexum Global supports foreign suppliers and Indian buyers importing EV-related equipment, energy products, solar devices, batteries, chargers, control systems, and electronic components into India.

EV and electronics imports involve more than customs clearance.
Products in the EV, energy, and electronics ecosystem often carry multiple compliance layers before import into India.
A single product may raise questions around HSN classification, BIS, WPC, TEC, EPR, battery-related compliance, Legal Metrology, labelling, customs valuation, end-use, or Importer of Record responsibility.
Avexum Global helps clients identify these issues early, structure the shipment correctly, and coordinate documentation and the import process with the right stakeholders.

Compliance areas that may apply
| Compliance Area | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| HSN classification | Determines duty, GST, import policy and regulatory path |
| BIS | Certain electronics, batteries, devices and components may fall under BIS requirements |
| WPC ETA | Applies where Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF, wireless or communication modules are present |
| TEC / MTCTE | May apply to telecom and networking equipment |
| EPR – E-waste | Relevant for electrical and electronic equipment placed in the Indian market |
| Battery Waste Management | Relevant for batteries, battery packs and battery-operated products |
| LMPC / Legal Metrology | Relevant for packaged goods imported for retail sale |
| Customs valuation | Important for free-of-charge, warranty, sample or replacement shipments |
| DGFT import policy | Needed to check whether the product is free, restricted or subject to conditions |
| End-use documentation | Important for samples, demo goods, industrial use, warranty parts or project imports |
When IoR support may be suitable
- The Indian buyer's IEC is under process
- A foreign supplier wants to ship to India without an Indian entity
- The shipment is for warranty replacement or spare parts
- Goods are being sent for demo, trial, sample or project use
- Product compliance needs to be reviewed before shipment
- Foreign supplier and Indian buyer need a structured import route
IoR is not a shortcut to bypass regulation.
Before accepting an IoR role, Avexum Global reviews product details, HSN and customs classification, applicable regulatory requirements, invoice and valuation structure, end-use and buyer details, duty / GST / freight payment responsibility, delivery structure, and risk allocation.
Common situations we support
Buyer IEC under process
When the Indian buyer's IEC is not yet active, we assess whether an IoR structure is suitable or whether the shipment should wait.
Solar camera or CCTV import
May involve camera classification, wireless module review, battery details, BIS, WPC, EPR and labelling checks — depending on the model and use.
EV charger import
May require product-level review for electrical safety, HSN, BIS applicability, connector classification, end-use and installation model.
Battery pack or BMS import
May involve battery waste compliance, safety documentation, product labelling, technical specifications, and classification questions.
Warranty parts
Free-of-charge warranty parts still require customs valuation, an invoice for customs purposes, HSN classification, a warranty letter, and duty / IGST review.
Industrial or marine electronics
Automation, navigation, control panels, sensors and spare parts often require part-wise HSN classification — not classification based on the parent system.
Sample or demo shipment
Require documentation that clearly establishes purpose, value, intended use, and whether resale is involved.
Before the goods move, we help check:
- What exactly is being imported — complete product, component, spare part or accessory?
- What is the likely HSN classification?
- Is the product freely importable?
- Does BIS, WPC, TEC, EPR, LMPC or battery compliance apply?
- Is the product wireless-enabled?
- Does it contain a battery?
- Is it for resale, project use, demo, testing or warranty replacement?
- Who is the importer and is the IEC active?
- Is IoR support suitable?
- Who will pay duty, IGST, freight and clearance charges?
- Are the invoice, packing list and technical documents aligned?
How the import review works
- 01
Product and shipment review
Share product details, supplier details, quantity, value, country of origin, intended use and expected timeline.
- 02
Compliance exposure mapping
We identify likely HSN, customs, BIS, WPC, TEC, EPR, LMPC, battery-related and DGFT considerations.
- 03
Import structure assessment
We assess whether the shipment should move under the buyer's IEC, Avexum Global's IoR support, or another legally suitable structure.
- 04
Documentation planning
We prepare a document checklist and coordinate with the supplier, buyer, CHA, freight partner and regulatory consultant as required.
- 05
Execution and closure file
Where engaged for execution, we coordinate the import process and support the post-clearance file — BOE, duty details and supporting records.
We do not support:
- Under-invoicing
- Incorrect HSN classification
- False product descriptions
- Bypassing BIS / WPC / EPR / LMPC or other mandatory requirements
- Imports where product details are withheld
- Unclear ownership or payment structures
- Shipments where duty and third-party charges are not funded in advance
